Statistics On Social Are Great For Reach, Not For Clicks
Numbers and statistics are awesome. They quickly convey data-backed information in an easily consumable way. Sharing stats is a great way to increase engagement on social too. According to Twitter, messages that contain a number increase retweets by 17%. This is a great increase by simply sharing some insight in your message. While messages with numbers are great for reach, they’re likely hurting you CTR.
Report: How Facebook, Twitter Users Consume News
Social media is quickly becoming the preferred way for many to consume their news. How they consume that news within each social network is unique. A new report from Pew Research Center and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, titled The Evolving Role of News on Twitter and Facebook, took a look at news consumption on social. What they found can give good insight to marketers and increase the likelihood they’ll consume our news.
How My Cat Delights His Twitter Followers Daily
Everyone knows that cats rule the internet. They rule social media too. With cats like Sockington gathering over 1 million followers, our furry friends often have more influence than celebrities. They’ve even become celebrities themselves.
With the many popular cats on Twitter, my cat Bucky wanted to get in on the action too. So he signed up for an account and started tweeting.
Like any Twitter account, the cat started with a fresh profile and dreams of ruling the world! Or at least getting a free cat treat deal one day. While tweeting pictures of himself each day was fun at first, it quickly became a bit time consuming as additional daily naps became necessary to balance his growing fame. The cat soon realized he needed a way to make it easier to fill his feed while also having enough time to feed himself and be able to sleep almost 20 hours a day. Here’s how Bucky keeps himself and his Twitter fans happy.
Facebook Wasn’t Made For Marketers
Changes to Facebook keep coming. The most recent change allows users to pick those they do and don’t want to see in their news feeds. Before that, they cut back on click-baiting. Balanced content from friends and Pages. All these changes have changed how marketers and users see Facebook.
While these changes certainly make for a better Facebook experience, many marketers see them in a very different light. Rather than being for the better, some believe they’ve been made simply to screw marketers and get them to open their pocket books. For those that believe these changes are targeted at marketers, it’s time to remember that Facebook isn’t about you.
Finding Your Best Peforming Buffer Time Slot
Buffer is an amazing tool for scheduling social messaging with ease. You pick the times that are best for your posts, create the message and they take care of the rest. Recently, Buffer published a study on the best times to tweet, using data from 4.8 million Twitter messages. The study is filled with interesting information about when we should be scheduling our messaging. If you haven’t read it, I highly recommend it.
Knowing the best times for the best return is great to help drive social success. In addition to knowing what times work best for specific results, I wanted to know which of my current Buffer queue spots performed best. Was the 11am slot, when the largest number of my followers are active, the best time to tweet? I decided to find out.

How To Pick An Influencer Marketing Agency
Influencer marketing is a hot marketing trend. Companies are looking to actively engage influential people to help further the authenticity and reach of their marketing messages. Influencers offer the ability to take advantage of not only our own social networks but the large and, more importantly, engaged networks the influencers built for themselves too.
With the popularity growing fast, agencies have stepped up the plate to offer influencer marketing services to clients. The trick is to separate those that know what they’re doing from those simply looking to cash in on a current trend. Here’s how you can find an agency that will produce results rather than refuse.
What Facebook’s New Video Actions Mean To Marketers
This week Facebook made another announcement regarding changes to how they interpret engagement with video content on the site. While other recent changes took into account time spent on a story as a signal someone may have enjoyed a piece of content, this week’s update looks at how we interact with videos in the news feed and gathers insights from it. Here’s what you should know and how you can take advantage of it.
